Unlike other manufacturers, our hydrobaths are made from durable polyethylene. Polyethylene is a modern polymer material used in many other commercial and domestic products today which include:
Outdoor furniture
- Water tanks
- Spa baths
- Waste bins
- Kayaks and boats
- Pontoons
- Roadside safety barriers
- Roo bars
- Tubs and sinks
The process used to make these items, including our hydrobath is referred to as rotational moulding. In summary the raw material is poured into a mould and rotated through an oven, cooled and removed from the mould in one piece. The moulded tub is then assembled with other components to create our hydrobath.
The moulding process allows for the casting of brass threaded lock nuts within the tub for the fitting of our elements, trolley and plumbing. For instance, our elements are screwed in from the outside without the need for a lock nut on the inside. This not only provides added strength but it also allows for simple replacement of parts that can be removed and fitted with ease. In comparison, other hydrobath brands require removal and replacement of the element lock nut from inside the tank which can be fiddly, troublesome and may require two people to achieve. Also, many other plumbing parts are glued on and cannot be easily replaced.
